How to purchase the iubenda Essential Compliance Plugin

In this guide, you will learn how to purchase and add the iubenda Essential Compliance Plugin within a project. With this service, you can automatically generate a privacy policy, cookie policy, and add a cookie consent banner for your website. The banner created is in accordance with Google Consent Mode v2. These generated elements will always be in accordance with current legislation and will be automatically updated when necessary. At the moment, only one subscription option can be purchased within Webnode—Essentials. Upgrading to a higher tier with Terms and Conditions, multiple languages and other features is not available at this time.

If you have an active Webnode standard cookie banner, it will be replaced by the iubenda banner. However, you may optionally use the Webnode cookie banner, with your Privacy policy and Cookie policy generated by the iubenda Essential Compliance Plugin.

The cookie banner from Webnode also meets the requirements for Google Consent Mode v2, however, it is not certified for more advanced marketing services, such as Google Adsense. The iubenda plugin has this certification and can be used with services that require the extra certification.

iubenda Essential Compliance Plugin can be purchased for 1 or 2 years for projects with a free Webnode plan (no need to purchase a Premium Plan) or for projects with a Premium Plan already active.

The iubenda Essential Compliance Plugin only supports major world languages at this time. The tutorial below will help with the English version of the administration. The cookie policy, privacy policy and cookie banner are localized only to major world languages, however it is okay to use the English version, for example, even if the website uses a different language.

 

Purchase of service

1. In the project administration, select the Cookies & compliance management option in the Administration tab.

2. Continue here with the Purchase Premium Compliance button.

3. In the following step, a standard order will be displayed.

After paying for the order, you can start using the service. You can access the settings again via the project administration, where you select the Cookies & compliance management option in the Administration tab (see point 1).

After you have completed setting up the plugin, the banner for consent to the use of cookies will be displayed by default on your website.

Links to the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy are then available in the footer of the website.

After clicking on the Privacy Policy or Cookie Policy buttons, a pop-up window will appear. You can change the design of the pop-up window in the iubenda Essential Compliance Plugin settings.
